Microsoft’s Global Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Rhew headlined the event, outlining a future where AI enhances every layer of healthcare, from diagnostics to operations. Other speakers included Dr. Scott Steele, president of Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus Submarket, and Dr. Ben Shahshahani, the organization’s first Chief AI Officer, who emphasized the importance of innovating responsibly and strategically. Dr. Serpil Erzurum, Executive VP and Chief Research and Academic Officer, spotlighted the shifting landscape of medical training in an AI-driven world.
Dr. Jame Abraham, chair of Hematology & Medical Oncology, warned that while AI won’t replace clinicians, those who fail to understand it may be left behind. The summit reinforced Cleveland Clinic’s leadership in integrating AI into real-world care, underscoring its commitment to equipping providers—not just with tools, but with the vision to shape what comes next.
