Bain Capital Ventures has led a $150M Series C for Forus, a startup that coordinates the journey of a prescription from a doctor’s pen to a patient’s hand. The deal values the company at $3B, roughly three times its previous mark, and Forus says the cash will fund growth into new specialties and care settings.
Each prescription written through its network gets a dedicated AI agent. The software clears insurance rules, locates financial aid and steers pharmacy and supply steps, learning as it goes from millions of earlier cases. Clinics and patients use the platform free of charge.
Chief executive Sahir Jaggi says the platform now reaches providers in all 50 states and patients across 85% of US residential ZIP codes. More than a third of providers in its first specialty have adopted the network, and nine of the world’s 15 largest biopharma companies use it to see where patients stall on treatment.
The company was founded in 2023 to attack a stubborn problem: roughly one in three patients prescribed a high-cost or complex medicine never receives the first dose. Jaggi argues the friction between prescription and pharmacy is where patients are lost, and that AI can close the gap as medicine advances faster than access to it.
Existing backers Thrive Capital, General Catalyst, Accel and Redpoint joined the round, with BoxGroup, Pear VC, Vast Ventures and SV Angel also participating. Total funding now exceeds $300M, following a round of more than $160M announced in May. Bain partner Kevin Zhang said the startup is among the fastest-growing companies in the firm’s portfolio.
