Inspiren raised $70M in a round led by NewView Capital. The investor group also included Insight Partners, Primary Venture Partners, Scale Venture Partners, Vintage Investment Partners, Lightbank, Avenir Growth Capital, Story Ventures and Camber Creek.
The deal values the company above $500M and lifts total funding to $225M. Inspiren sells sensors and AI that watch over residents in senior living communities.
The goal is catching needs that would otherwise go unnoticed. Michael Wang, the founder and chief clinical officer, predicted that in a decade nobody will accept a resident’s needs going unnoticed behind a closed door.
Its reach covers 80% of the largest senior housing investors, among them AEW and Sabra Healthcare REIT. Operators using it include Arrow Senior Living, Ascent Living Communities, Heritage Communities, Thrive Senior Living and Wellpointe.
Wang said the money will widen what its models detect, predict and act on across a community. Deeper integrations with the leading electronic health record platforms are part of the plan too. He described an aggressive roadmap spanning hardware and software with no fixed deployment timeline.
Senior living operators run on thin staffing margins while resident acuity climbs. That combination makes continuous monitoring one of the few technology categories with a direct labor story.
