Incepto Medical has raised $16M in a round led by the impact fund Impactivist, with existing backers LBO France, Karista, BPI France and Wille Finance following on.
The Paris company runs a platform that curates, orchestrates and reports on medical imaging AI across hospital radiology departments. It says more than 1,000 medical centers in ten countries use its tools, covering roughly 6 million patients a year.
Founded in 2018 by Florence Moreau, Antoine Jomier and Dr. Gaspard d’Assignies, Incepto positions itself as a neutral layer rather than a single algorithm vendor. Radiology groups pick from a portfolio and fold the results into structured reports.
The company credits its deployments with close to 2,000 additional breast cancer cases detected annually, a 27% cut in emergency department length of stay through faster triage, and a four-week reduction in wait times for complex exams such as prostate MRI. Customers include Helios, Affidea, Unilabs and CUF.
Governance is the other half of the announcement. Incepto will convene an Impact Committee to track whether its imaging AI actually widens access and earns clinician trust, alongside its effect on patients.
The round says as much about European imaging economics as about Incepto. Radiology groups there are consolidating, and buying AI one algorithm at a time has proved harder to sustain than buying an orchestration layer.
