Novo Nordisk is adding H1 to its roster of AI partners, tapping the New York-based provider data company to build models for drug discovery and clinical trial operations.

Novo will deploy H1’s platform across trial design, enrollment and site selection work. H1 also gains development rights to StudyHub, Novo’s digital system for organizing clinical development information.

Novo’s group VP of AI and digital innovation for R&D, Mishal Patel, expects faster cycle times and better site selection and study design. He cited H1’s domain expertise and AI-ready data as the reasons the company signed on.

H1 was founded in 2017 and runs an AI platform for matching organizations with healthcare providers. CVS Health Ventures led a $40M investment in the company in May, adding to more than $100M raised in earlier rounds.

The deal extends Novo’s AI push. In April, the drugmaker said it would deploy OpenAI’s capabilities across its global operations, and it has separate AI collaborations with NVIDIA and Valo Health.
