Boston medtech firm Elucid has closed an oversubscribed $55M Series D round. The company builds AI software that reads cardiovascular risk from standard CT scans, and total funding now sits near $185M.
A large medtech company came in as a new strategic investor. It becomes the fourth publicly traded strategic backer of the firm. IAG Capital Partners and Elevage Medical Technologies, an investment vehicle created by Patient Square Capital, also took part.
Elucid’s Plaque-IQ software already carries FDA clearance. It quantifies dangerous plaque in coronary and carotid arteries from CT angiography, with validation against histopathology behind it. A Lesion Inspection Tool reached commercial availability in April.
The fresh cash supports commercial growth, strategic partnerships and landmark studies. It also funds BioIntegrated FFR-CT, a product in FDA 510(k) review that combines anatomy, plaque biology and blood flow into a single assessment for personalized coronary artery disease care.
Chief executive Kelly Huang says the mission is predicting and preventing heart attacks, not managing them after they occur. The round builds on an $80M Series C from 2023, and it lands as investors keep backing AI diagnostics that steer treatment decisions from routine imaging.
