GenHealth.ai sells into the insurance paperwork that stalls US clinics. The Boston firm disclosed a $16.5M Series A on September 8, with Flare Capital Partners as lead investor. Its funding to date reaches $30M.

The company’s agents handle patient intake, eligibility checks, prior authorization, billing and denials by working inside electronic health records, payer portals, fax lines and phone systems. Staff train the agents by showing them how their practice works, then create user accounts for the AI the way they would for a new hire. A US-based billing team reviews exceptions.

GenHealth says its agents are built on a Large Medical Model trained on the coded claims and clinical histories of more than 140 million patients. Chief executive Ricky Sahu, who spent a decade building interoperability tools for large health plans at 1upHealth, argues that automation failed before because it was never wired into the real systems where the work happens.

The pitch is landing with customers that say they get paid faster. GenHealth reports providers using its agents collect over 30% more revenue, a claim its investors repeat. Flare Capital partner Vic Lanio said the company stands out because its agents work alongside humans and finish the job rather than layering on another dashboard.

Craft Ventures and Obvious Ventures returned for the round, joined by Eniac Ventures, InHealth Ventures, Epsilon Health Investors and ARTIS. Sahu and co-founder Ethan Siegel started the company in 2023. The new capital will fund engineering, go-to-market hiring and deeper coverage of revenue cycle workflows, with roughly $1T spent on US healthcare administration each year as the backdrop.
