Sirona Medical has raised $40M in Series D funding led by Avidity Partners, with 8VC, GreatPoint Ventures and KLT Holdings joining the round. The San Francisco company says the capital takes total venture backing to roughly $150M and funds its operating plan indefinitely.
The money goes to RadOS, which Sirona calls the first unified cloud- and AI-native radiology operating system. It bundles PACS storage, a diagnostic viewer, clinical reporting, a smart worklist and workflow AI into one piece of software, replacing the stitched-together mix of on-premise tools most imaging departments still run.
Sirona launched RadOS commercially in November 2023. The company now reports more than 12 million annual primary exams running through the platform, with usage tripling over the past year.
The bet is that radiology practices will stop bolting third-party algorithms onto aging viewers and instead buy one cloud fabric. That argument has drawn money all year as imaging AI vendors consolidate and health systems push image storage off local servers.
Sirona says it has reached long-term financial self-sufficiency. The company also opened its first satellite office, in Burlington, Vermont.
