Abbott is wiring its Lingo continuous glucose monitor into Google Health. The over-the-counter biowearable will feed data into Google’s AI and consumer platforms under a multi-year collaboration aimed at everyday metabolic wellness.

The companies announced the deal on August 11. Lingo data will appear next to activity and rest patterns inside the Google Health app. The goal is to turn that combined view into tailored health recommendations. Google Health’s general manager Rishi Chandra said the aim is more proactive, personalized advice for daily life.

Abbott’s Lingo tracks glucose in real time without finger pricks, and the device is already sold over the counter in the US and parts of Europe. Google brings its consumer reach, AI models, and the Health app’s existing wellness tracking to the arrangement. The two companies said full product details, feature integrations, and availability will be announced later this year.

The deal puts the Google Health app in direct competition with other metabolism-focused platforms while giving Abbott a distribution channel far beyond its own Lingo app. For consumers, the pitch is a single place to see how food, exercise, and sleep move glucose numbers throughout the day.

It also extends a pattern of device makers pairing sensors with big-tech AI. Abbott already works with other partners on glucose data, but the Google tie-up is its most consumer-facing AI collaboration to date. Analysts will watch whether the integration drives Lingo subscription uptake, since continuous glucose monitoring is still a niche category outside diabetes management.
