A documentation agent built for physicians now serves nurses as well. Oracle Health opened the tool to U.S. hospital nurses this week.
The agent sits inside the Oracle Health Foundational EHR. Nurses can speak to the record to navigate charts, pull patient histories and review current symptoms before a bedside visit. It also drafts nursing summaries automatically.
A third capability covers hands-free charting. Nurses dictate structured notes as they work rather than reconstructing them later. The vendor says that trims documentation time and makes shift handoffs cleaner.
Seema Verma, who leads Oracle Health and Life Sciences as executive vice president, said repetitive manual work consumes too much of a nurse’s day.
The gap the launch targets is well documented. A 2026 Elsevier report found nurses lag physicians in workplace AI use, 41% against 57%. Only about half of nurses said their employer provides access to such tools.
Ambient charting has become the crowded edge of clinical AI, with vendors racing to strip administrative load. Extending the same capability to nurses widens the market well beyond physician workflows and tests whether health systems will pay for two clinical AI seats instead of one.
