A European startup that sends AI agents into hospital back offices has raised EUR4.2M in seed funding. Health Force will use the round to expand into Germany, France and Spain and roughly double its team from eight people to sixteen.
Its agents handle administrative work rather than clinical decisions. Automation has gone furthest in Italy’s biggest private hospital groups, where the company says three claims in four now run end to end without staff involvement. The rest come back to humans with notes on what to check.
The integration approach is unusual. Instead of demanding new APIs, agents log into hospital systems using their own credentials, a decision co-founder and chief executive Fadi Haddad traces to hospital software that rarely exposes interfaces for third-party tools.
Two Italian sites served as the proving ground. Humanitas Research Hospital and Ospedale Galeazzi came aboard as development partners early on, after the founders worked alongside Deloitte.
Together those sites handle more than 200,000 patient cases a year. A Portuguese public hospital group, ULS Coimbra, later adopted the platform for a different job entirely: government quality reporting.
Three venture firms led the new round, with earlier backers returning.
Health Force charges per agent delivered and builds them on site with its own engineers. Hospital IT teams, in other words, maintain nothing.
That shapes the pitch. Administrators, in Haddad’s telling, want shorter waiting times, better use of beds and less paperwork. Another clinical model is not what they are shopping for.
