Aiforia’s AI pathology tools will be sold through PathAI’s AISight Marketplace under a new commercial agreement between the two companies. The deal pairs Aiforia’s CE-IVD marked deep learning models with PathAI’s installed base, aiming to widen access for laboratories in Europe and the United States.
Under the arrangement, Aiforia’s algorithms become available inside the AISight Dx Image Management System, the platform PathAI has built for digital pathology. PathAI is a member of the Roche Group and describes AISight Dx as CE-IVD marked for primary diagnosis in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Selling into an existing install base
“By making our models available through AISight Dx, we can reach laboratories and pathologists who are already working within PathAI’s platform and strengthen our presence especially in the US market,” said Jukka Tapaninen, chief executive of Aiforia.
PathAI’s chief growth officer, Nick Brown, framed the marketplace as a curated ecosystem where algorithms for biomarker quantification, tissue classification, and diagnostic support sit inside the same case review workflow. The company handles contracting, billing, and support for everything on the platform.
Distribution as the battleground
The agreement reflects a broader reality in digital pathology: building an accurate model is only half the problem, and reaching pathologists inside the software they already use is now the decisive step. Vendors that control image management systems are becoming gatekeepers for smaller algorithm developers.
The same week Fujifilm launched Synapse Pathology v3.0 with its own pathology foundation model, underscoring how crowded and consolidation-prone the market has become.
