Independent physicians run a business on the side of practicing medicine, and the finance stack rarely keeps up. Treso, a Kansas City startup, is betting those clinics would rather buy one connected system than stitch together five disconnected tools.

A pre-seed round led by Redesign Health

The company announced a $3.75M pre-seed round led by Redesign Health, with Locke Health and KCRise Fund participating. The capital is meant to carry Treso through launch and then toward national expansion, starting with independent practices.

Founder and CEO Ryan Greenhaw, previously chief revenue officer at Outbound AI, argues that banking, accounting, receivables, expense management and procurement belong in one place rather than scattered across vendors.

Free for the practice, priced on payments

Treso plans to give its core product away to providers and earn money on the financial side. The centerpiece is a corporate card that lets a practice issue virtual cards to specific vendors with set spending limits, with AI matching receipts automatically.

That structure is a familiar one in fintech: software as the lure, transaction economics as the business. Whether small practices will consolidate their financial operations around a newcomer is the open question, and the round is sized to find out.

For clinic operators, the pitch lands on a real pain point. Practice finance software has historically been expensive relative to the margin of a five-physician group, and the tools often do not talk to each other. Greenhaw’s promise is margin returned to patient care rather than spent reconciling spreadsheets.
