Cent, a Bengaluru preventive health company founded in 2025, has banked $15M in a round mixing equity with debt, co-led by Blume Ventures and returning backer South Park Commons. The founders are Shashank ND, the Practo founder, alongside two former executives: Anshul Khandelwal, one-time Ola Electric marketing chief, and Arpit Garg, who headed product at Lenskart.
Scanning people who feel fine
Cent runs preventive health centres across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR and has carried out 10,000 whole-body scans since it began, with a stated target of 10 million by 2035.
Its own figures make the commercial case. A quarter of members who said they felt well nonetheless turned up a finding needing action, and 2.5% needed immediate medical attention, among them early tumours, narrowed arteries and aneurysms.
The dataset is the asset
Cent is assembling a picture of what normal looks like inside Indian bodies, built from imaging of people with no symptoms. That kind of reference population is scarce, and the company plans to use it for AI model training and clinical research.
Reaching 10 million scans would leave it holding one of the larger imaging datasets in South Asia, though Cent has not said how it will govern access or consent.
The funding is earmarked for research and development. Cent also acquired Medsee, an AI radiology platform whose software drafts structured reports and flags findings for radiologists to review, a deal meant to speed reporting as scan volume grows.
Arun Sarin, the former Vodafone chief executive, put in personal money, as did Srinivas Narayanan, one-time head of B2B technology at OpenAI, Sharath Narayana, Krishna Sridhar and Aprameya Radhakrishna.
