A new premium ultrasound system for pregnancy care leans heavily on AI shortcuts. Samsung Medison says its HERA Z10 can finish detailed mid-trimester exams up to 52 percent faster.
The device debuted at the ISUOG World Congress in London, held September 4-7, and rounds out the HERA Z family alongside the Z20.
The speed claim stems from work with two Sapienza University of Rome professors, Giuseppe Rizzo and Daniele Di Mascio, who are founding ISUOG members. Live ViewAssist, an AI tool in the system, drove the time savings during detailed scans.
A second feature, EzStructure, reduces manual tweaking of key measurements by up to 71 percent, which also cuts fatigue for sonographers.
High-risk pregnancies get dedicated tools. MV-Flow 3D renders fine blood-flow detail to aid placenta accreta diagnosis and spot abnormal cord and uterine vessels. FibroidVue automatically outlines and measures the uterus, its lining, and fibroids.
The machine blends the Z20’s AI workflows with new beamforming electronics for crisper images. Jihyun Kim, head of Samsung Medison’s CX team, said buyers can now pick the premium model that matches their clinical setup.
Samsung Medison casts the launch as a women’s health milestone. Older mothers and more pregnancy complications mean prenatal imaging must do more, and faster, than before.
