OpenEvidence, an AI-enabled medical research platform for clinicians, announced a multi-year collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital to evaluate how AI use at the point of care affects care delivery patterns.

The partnership will integrate OpenEvidence’s AI directly into Boston Children’s electronic health record system. Clinicians will have access to the platform’s AI-powered medical copilot, which is trained exclusively on medical journals and clinical data, within their existing workflow. The study will analyze aggregated, de-identified provider data to examine correlations between AI tool usage and clinical practice patterns.

No patient data will be accessed or used in the analysis, the company confirmed. John Brownstein, chief innovation officer at Boston Children’s, said the initiative will help surface insights into health trends that would otherwise remain hidden.

OpenEvidence has been expanding rapidly this year, partnering with Cedars-Sinai, Mount Sinai, Sutter Health, NewYork-Presbyterian, and several academic medical centers. The company raised a $250 million Series D in January at a $12 billion valuation, bringing its total funding to nearly $700 million over the past 12 months.
