A funding round led by Singularity AMC has brought INR 90 crore, or about $9.4M, to MakeO, which owns the clear aligner brand Toothsi. DSP family office, Genesis and Unispace Ventures took part as well.
Acquisitions of dental and aligner businesses in India and Southeast Asia are being weighed by the company, which says the capital will fund a build-out of its physical clinic network in both regions.
## From aligners to a full dental platform
Reach into Southeast and North Asia was extended by MakeO’s purchase of Singapore-based Zenyum, and the raise came after that deal. Roughly 1,100 partner dentists across 10 countries now work with the group, a figure that grew after Apple Dental’s 20 clinics in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were added for INR 10.9 crore in 2025.
Clear aligners are manufactured by MakeO at a facility near Mumbai, a business founded in 2018 that sells through Toothsi in India and Zenyum elsewhere in Asia. Dental, skin and hair treatments under one platform became possible in 2022 when the Toothsi and Skinnsi brands were merged.
Earlier this year the combined business turned EBITDA profitable and has crossed INR 500 crore in revenue, the company says. More than $100M had been raised by MakeO before this round. At the aligner-design and treatment-planning end, artificial intelligence sits at the center of the model, where scan-to-plan automation determines how much manual orthodontic work the network can avoid.
